Wollongong Council reminds pet owners to get cats and dogs micro-chipped

If you’re giving or receiving a furry friend for Christmas, Wollongong Council is reminding to get them registered and microchipped.

As pets are for life – not just the holidays – keeping their details up to date ensures they can return to their owners in case they ever get lost.

Both cats and dogs need to be registered and this can be done online or through Council’s Customer Service Centre. They will however need to be micro-chipped at a vet.

“It’s a good idea to keep all pets inside during the fireworks as even the best behaved pooch can get a little frightened.”
